Matthew 5:6

Matthew 5:6 teaches that those who belong to Christ hunger and thirst for righteousness. This desire begins with recognizing our inability to make ourselves righteous and looking to Christ, the Righteous One, whose righteousness is credited to us by faith. Yet the Christian also longs to live righteously and to see righteousness prevail in the world. Because Christ is our righteousness and will ultimately make all things right, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be satisfied.
