The Courtroom of the Almighty

This week at Maranatha Baptist Church, Pastor Brian Morris preached from Micah 1:1–9 in a message titled “The Courtroom of the Almighty.” The prophet Micah opens his book with a vision of God stepping down from His throne to bring judgment against the sins of His people. Through the imagery of a divine courtroom, we are reminded of the seriousness of idolatry and the justice of the Lord. Yet even as Micah laments over sin, he points forward to the hope of a Redeemer who will one day heal the incurable wound of sin — Jesus Christ, the Righteous Judge and Merciful Savior.
