Psalm 102

Psalm 102 is a prayer of the afflicted, giving voice to the struggles, sorrows, and sufferings that God's people often experience. In this sermon, Pastor Brian explores how the psalmist honestly pours out his complaint before the Lord, describing his weakness, loneliness, and despair. Yet the focus of the psalm shifts from the frailty of man to the eternal character of God.

Though the psalmist's days are fading, the Lord reigns forever. He hears the prayers of the destitute, remembers His covenant promises, and remains unchanged through every generation. Ultimately, Psalm 102 points us to Jesus Christ, who entered into our suffering, died in our place, and remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.

When affliction comes and we do not know how to pray, the Psalms teach us to bring our burdens before the Lord and find comfort in His eternal faithfulness.
