The Good King

Psalm 101 presents a vision of a righteous king and a righteous kingdom. As David describes the character and conduct that should mark a faithful ruler, we quickly discover that even Israel's greatest king fell short of the standard he proclaims. This psalm ultimately points beyond David to Jesus Christ, the Good King, who perfectly embodies steadfast love, justice, holiness, and righteousness.
